Volunteers rebuild Cradley home for dad with Motor Neurone’s Disease – Malvern Gazette

A GROUP of volunteers have rebuilt a family home for a dad who has Motor Neurone’s Disease.

Electrician Jamie Thompson and his partner, Sarah Townsend, moved out of their home in Cradley, near Malvern, in late August.

The Band of Builders charity then started work at the property and made the couple’s kitchen and garden more accessible for Mr Thompson, completing the project on September 1.

Miss Townsend said: “Jamie and I are totally bowled over with the work which the Band of Builders carried out at our home in just one week – it’s staggering.

“The end result is creative and breath-taking. Already Jamie and the children have utilised the whole of the garden, something which in recent years, has not been possible.

“This incredible group of people have created two extra spaces in our home which Jamie can now safely use and utilise to the full.

“The team thought of every tiny detail to make Jamie feel special and included in their design process, enabling him to create valuable memories with his children in spaces which had become redundant.

“The Band of Builders deserve every success and huge recognition for what they do.
