One man has been inspired to set up a boxing group for adults with learning disabilities after he noticed a huge and positive change in his brother who has downs syndrome.
Last month Adam and Jamie Greene from Tuffley entered the boxing ring to take part in the ultimate sibling fight to raise money for various charities that have supported Jamie over the years.
The change in Jamie who has the disability has been so significant and positive that now Adam wants to open up a group to invite others that also have learning disabilities to get involved.
Jamie, 32 said: “Jamie really loved coming to the gym and sparring with Jon Pitman who owns the Fight Factory Gym.
“I have seen his confidence improve and even after he went away on holiday, he was ready to get back to the gym to do more training.
“I have seen a massive change in Jamie and I think that hopefully if it can do that for Jamie, it may be able to do that for other.”
The session are running at the Fight Factory gym which is located on Bristol Road in Gloucester. The sessions costs £5 and lasts for 45 minutes.
