A clinical drug trial is being hailed as a “historic moment in the fightback against motor neurone disease in Scotland”.
The late MND campaigner Gordon Aikman dreamed of such a trial taking place here.
And thanks to a major investment by the charity MND Scotland, it will now go ahead.
Patients with the incurable condition are being recruited to test Interleukin-2, a drug which is already used for some types of cancer.
It will be the first MND drug trial in Scotland for more than 20 years.
