Banbury supported living service for adults with learning disabilities praised – Banbury Guardian

A supported living service which looks after nine adults with learning disabilities in Banbury was praised by the health watchdog after a recent inspection.

Dashwood was rated as ‘good’ in all areas in a Care Quality Commission (CQC) report published last month following the unannounced inspection in August.

Area manager Faye Zarb said: “Dashwood is a fantastic service. This CQC result shows the commitment all our staff have to achieving positive outcomes for customers.

“It is also a testament to the good relationships developed within the service and across the wider organisation; sharing information, using policies, systems, training and customer engagement initiatives to build good practice and enhance our reputation.”

The inspectors found people ‘were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives’, with the service considered safe, well-led, effective, caring and responsive.

The registered manager was aware of the values and vision of the organisation and to ensure these were implemented into the service to ensure people achieved positive outcomes, according to inspectors.
